Info Stall

Allow me to introduce ourselves – Lynn, Ben, and Karen, the dynamic trio behind the scenes at the market. As the Market Manager, I'm joined by Ben, our Assistant Manager, and Karen, our Admin Assistant, in running the show. We also have Cashel, Luke and James who are the dynamos that set up the tables, chairs and signage

At the heart of our operations lies our EFTPOS system, primarily designed to facilitate cash transactions for stalls without their own EFTPOS machines. While we currently don't accept payWave or overseas cards, rest assured, we're actively working on integrating these payment methods to better serve our diverse clientele.

Our market is more than just a gathering of stalls; it's an incorporated society overseen by a committee comprising dedicated stallholders, including our esteemed chairperson, Simon. This committee plays a pivotal role in decision-making, while I ensure their directives are efficiently executed, keeping our Sunday markets bustling with activity.

Neville, our former chairperson and treasurer, left an enduring legacy by introducing additional products to our stall, steadily expanding our offerings over the years. These products adhere to our market's ethos of supporting local artisans and producers from Marlborough, and occasionally extending our reach to include Nelson.

Speaking of our team, allow me to share a glimpse into our lives beyond the market stalls. Karen, residing in Picton with her husband, divides her time between her administrative duties, work at the Edwin Fox, and cherished moments at their property in the Sounds. Ben, our Assistant Manager, channels his creativity through his YouTube channel while cherishing quality family time.

As for myself, I call Wairau Valley home, where my husband and I tend to our ten-acre haven teeming with life – cows, sheep, pigs, ducks, chickens, and our beloved border collies. Breeding these intelligent canines brings joy, alongside nurturing Hyline chickens and raising weaner pigs. Amidst it all, I find solace in our extensive gardens, finding serenity in their nurturing embrace.

COVID-19 taught us resilience. We cherish local produce, harvested fresh, embodying community spirit. Our stallholders, toiling tirelessly, ensure freshness and value surpassing supermarkets.

The market isn't just a place of commerce; it's a reflection of the vibrant community we cherish. We invite you to join us every Sunday as we celebrate local produce, culinary delights, and the camaraderie that defines us.

Warm regards,

Lynn (Market Manager)

Snail House Bakery

Hello bread lovers,
Rain or shine I will be at the market with the tasty and healthy German style rye sourdough bread and the more French style sourdough country loaf, wheat free adventure bread, super seeded multigrain, cinnamon snails, sour cherry pie, Linzer Torte, chia seed crackers, cookies , breadsticks and coconut Pani Popos, probiotic red and white sauerkraut and so much more. The last plum cake and perhaps a pear cake for your breakfast?

Golden Mile Produce

Golden Mile Produce will have loads of fresh vegetables, strawberries and rockmelons this Sunday. We managed to beat the rain with picking the melons  whilst everything else is enjoying an extra drink!

Favourites at the moment are the huge capsicum , our little sweet pointed peppers and chillies  too.

Eggplants  are fabulous . Lots of other staples and loving that our new season pickled onions have been marinating for over 6 weeks so are ready to enjoy .

See you Sunday from 9am. Stephen

SharpAs Tool Tip

Pictured are old hedge trimmers. One I have reconditioned, the other to do. If you have any old tools dont be put off if they are rusty and disused. Usually there is a very good tool just waiting for a little care and attention to give it many more years of use.

If you have old tools needing refurbishing or tools, utensils, and knives that need sharpening, bring them along to the Redwood Market Saturday mornings, Marlborough Farmers' Market on Sunday mornings or contact me direct on 027 444 5535 cheers Ron

What is Coming

Walnuts are coming, Bruce and Nola have started harvesting and will soon be able to offer cracked fresh walnuts from the info stall.

We are also looking to invite anyone wanting sell vegetables, get yourselves together and have a stall to sell your excess, there are some great growers out there, come and see us

See you Sunday, 9 to noon, A&P showgrounds.
