Direct from the farm

Come and experience the Marlborough Farmers’ Market!

We are OPEN at Orange and will be operating as a retail outlet.

ORANGE Requirements

The five following points need to be strictly adhered to.

  1. Masks must be worn at all times unless you have a medical exemption shown upon entry to the Market.
  1. No food or drink is to be consumed within the Market space. All food must be taken out of the Market space for consumption.
  1. Observe Social distancing of one metre at all times.
  1. If our staff members are abused or threatened because they ask someone to leave the Market to eat outside or they wear their mask inappropriately then consideration will be given to closing the Farmers’ Market. We have had people becoming increasingly aggressive when asked to a simple question concerning masks or to eat outside the Market.
  1. Because we a retail outlet we do not have to ask for Vaccine Passes under Orange and Green to operate without limits on numbers. That will change if we go to the Red light.  By everyone observing the rules on wearing masks, social distancing and eating outside the Market we can remain as a Vaccine Pass-free environment.  If any of those rules are breached then we must lose.

Support your local Farmers’ Market and what it stands for!
Farmers’ markets contribute to the social and economic welfare of the region by providing a greater economic infrastructure to the community by keeping the money in the region and supporting locally produced products.

•  It provides employment, offers wider cultural as well as commercial diversity in a region that is fast becoming a monoculture.

•  Socially, it unites two different members of the community – producers and consumers, this can serve as an educational experience, where the customer learns about their food sources and the producer gets valuable consumer feedback.
