Last week we had the rural fire department present, and available to talk to and explore their truck. Great to have them come to promote smoke alarms, coming up to checking time. Also a timely reminder to check fire extinguisher's as well. A colorful and informative addition to the market. We had Chris Smithers on his keyboard creating a fantastic Sunday morning vibe.
On the community stall this week we will have Dads of Marlborough, a community organisation who have a social group for dads to get together. They are promoting their upcoming 8 week course for new dads. Father's Day this year is Sunday September 3 - just over a week away!
Chainsaws are in use all year round. I do not use an air gun in the area exposed when removing the chain, because you can force sawdust into the chain lubricating system. This can be hard to clear out.
If you have chainsaws, power tools, wood tools, garden tools, kitchen tools, knives or anything else that needs sharpening come and see me at the Market.
cheers Ron

For this coming Sunday we'll be bringing our Carrot Cake alongside the Bostok and the usual selection of Sunday's Treats.
We'll increase the amount of Sourdoughs also by introducing 2 new kinds, a "small" tin loaf made with an hold variety of Wheat (Mulika) which Marco freshly mill himself and the 50/50 Rye and Wheat also made with by freshly milled organic Rye
Golden Mile Produce will have lots of lovely greens this Sunday, including more if our beautiful broccoli . So versatile, steamed, stir fry, drizzled in cheese sauce , but don't waste the stems. Grate and use in fritters, slice finely and add to stir fry or use the whole broccoli in soup.
Pictures today are an update on our strawberries . Fabulous flowers & fruit set. Bumblebees are doing a great job. This means fresh strawberries are not far away! See you Sunday. Stephen
La Ruca food truck by Sebastian and Daniela, chilean couple based in Marlborough since 2010. Both professional Chefs with the idea to share the taste of South America with the typical "churrasco" Burgers and Tasty Tacos!
I will be back with crack-your-own walnuts, fresh Swiss chard, and miners’ lettuce (might have a bit of rocket mixed in!!). Maybe a little bit of NZ spinach. All grown spray free without chemical fertilisers. Grab your high density greens from the community stall.
The Community Stall sells marlborough products for those who for any reason cannot have a stall of their own, Flaxbourne olive oil, marlborough sea salt, pinoli pine nuts, bags, newspapers, lots more and runs an atm for those wanting cash
The next newsletter will showcase an in-depth view of one of our stallholders, how they produce their product, and all the work that goes into it. Photos of their production area and a get to know your stallholder section. I will also be introducing a recipe section where you can find lots of seasonal recipes and any that have already been published. There will also be a lost and found, as I get a lot of lost property building up that may be able to be returned.
See you Sunday, 9 to noon, A&P showgrounds.
