SharpAs Tool Tips

Pictured is a pair of gardening tools I picked up decades ago at second-hand shops. This design solves the problem of strained backs when forking over soil.
To use: simply stand on the lever at a right angle to the fork or spade. This pushes the tool into the soil. Then, pull back on the T-bar handle, and the fork pivots on the lever connected by two curved springs, lifting and turning the soil. The lever takes the weight, your arms provide the power, and your back stays strain-free.

I use these tools when preparing the soil for growing Homemade Kiwi's vegetables.

If you have any tools or knives that need repairing or sharpening, bring them to the Redwood Market on Saturday mornings, the Marlborough Farmers’ Market on Sunday mornings, or contact me directly on 027 444 5535.
