December 1 officially marks the start of summer. Berries do too! Timely then that Windsong Orchard is back with blueberries, and the first cherries of the season are also making an appearance!
Now we just need the weather to behave. Looks like we’ll get a break in the weather on Sunday with summery 25 degrees and sunshine.
Welcome to Aurai Thai Food, a new food truck joining us with a delicious selection of popular Thai dishes and snack foods. Give them a try this Sunday.
Four Sunday markets left until Christmas and one special twilight market! Save the date for Friday 23 December. Come on over after work. Ideal to take a break from the chores at home. Meet up with your friends, have a little bit of food from the food trucks. No need to make the dishes dirty that night. After all you will be far too busy, and need to look after yourself.
Relax with the festive cheer from our wonderful buskers.

Our website is updated on the Saturday with stalls attending the following day.
The charity attending this Sunday will be the Marlborough Multiple Sclerosis and Parkinson’s group. They will be selling raffle tickets for their cause.
The group was established in Blenheim in 1977 to provide support to people in our region with Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson’s, and other rare conditions like Huntington’s.
"We hold activities in Marlborough for our members including exercise classes; coffee mornings; and lunches. We employ a Community Support Worker for 20 hours a week. Her priority is to keep in regular contact with our members by home visits, by regular phone calls and by meeting them at all the activities we have," says Barbara Hutchinson, secretary of the Marlborough MS and Parkinson's Society.
“To continue with our work, we apply for grants but also have an active fundraising schedule which includes selling raffle tickets. Many thanks to the Farmers’ Market for their support.”
We are looking for new team members to help us set up and break down the market, do traffic patrol during market hours and maintain market equipment.

The traditional Christmas cakes from Alys's Kitchen are made several months before Christmas. The reason for this is to let the fruits and ingredients mature. The cakes have been fed with a little Brandy to produce a deep, moist, rich flavoured cake that will last for many months.
You can choose from cakes available at the market, large or small, iced or un-iced or order them to suit your special needs. Gluten free is available also.
See you at the market.

A very useful utensil for use in the kitchen is the Mandoline. It has different attachments with many cutting edges. Like food processors, sharp blades make slicing so much easier. Many restaurants use this utensil for its versatility. Pictured are Mandoline blades that I recently sharpened for a busy restaurant. If you have one of these, or any other knives, garden tools, or workshop tools come and see me at the Marlborough Farmers' Market on Sunday.
cheers Ron
