Market Manager
With the beginning of the Māori New Year, and the first NZ public Matariki holiday, we honour the past, present and future.
Celebrating the cycle of life, we welcome new stall holder Mamma Lou. A time to reflect, we are also grateful to our community. A special thank you goes to Neighbourhood Support, because...
This Sunday, Nate from Neighbourhood Support is shouting FREE coffees!! (until the generous tab runs out). If the promise of fresh caffeine aroma doesn't get you out of bed early, what will? Why is he doing that? "To acknowledge the amazing community that attends and contributes to the farmers market," says Nate.
Nate will be floating around with free resources and for conversation. Please say hi and thank you to him.
A thought also for the harvest. To those whose passion it is to grow local foods and to come to the market to share their bounty with our market whānau and friends, thank you.
Take a look at Frut4U Lowes insane apple special. A crazy $2/kg for two crisp 'n' sweet varieties all of July.
Vine-ripened kiwifruit to boot, meaning more intense flavour than you could ever get.
To celebrate the first Matariki holiday at the Marlborough Farmers' Market, Rick and Nairn from Long Acre Farm have a sharp pork mince special at $10 a kilo!!
Great for dumplings, wontons, and mixed with beef mince in your lasagna is delicious.
What are you reflecting on, who are you celebrating with, and sharing your kai with?
Caitlin’s baking has been polar with the whole family.
In the spotlight this Sunday Apple Pie.
Along with our range of Sourdough Bread and Sunday treats. A bite for everyone, sweet tooth or savoury.
Ciao

Golden Mile Produce is all about growing green at present. And "eat your greens" couldn't be better, especially with watercress and wasabi cress. It's fresh, peppery and full of goodness (very high in folate, vitamins A & C). Use it in salads, wraps or sandwiches. Add it to soup and is delicious as part of a boil-up.
See us on Sunday for lots of greens including microgreens, silverbeet, spinach, pak choi, tatsoi, wong bok and great lettuces. We will still have onions, pumpkins & strawberry conserve.

We are running a special on Splendour and Queen apple varieties in July. Both are crisp 'n' sweet and at $2kg, it's a real bargain. Check out the other 10 varieties of apples as well.
We also have our very popular 3 varieties of pears, our very tasty vine-ripened kiwifruit, and our extensive range of apple juices. With so many options, there's something for everyone.
Andrew
We have Fruit Leathers for sale this weekend at the market. All the fruit is sourced from the Farmer's Market. Pears and apples from Fruit4U Lowes Orchard and honey from Garden Bees. They are preservative-free and free from added sugar.
You are welcome to come and taste these delicious leathers on Sunday at the Market.
See you there, Alys
A high quality knife was brought into me with a large chip out of it. With the owner's input, I reshaped the end and this knife will give many more years of use.
If you have knives, kitchen utensils, workshop tools, garden tools, sewing scissors, hair dressing scissors, or anything else that need sharpening or repairing, come and see me at the market.
Cheers Ron
This Sunday's market busker will be Johnnie Materoa.
One of the delicious winter salads is the miners' lettuce. It's juicy, full of nutrients and the lovely leaves pair well with a French dressing, freshly cracked walnuts, slices of pears, and some feta.
Along with the eftpos, local oils and dressings, we'll have miners lettuce, Swiss Chard, New Zealand spinach and crack-your-own walnuts for you this Sunday.
Take a peek at our website homepage, to see which stalls will be attending. We update this page on Saturdays..
The team from the Blenheim Rural Volunteer Fire Brigade wants to help you plan now for summer.
This time their focus is on property maintenance and plantings that help lower any risk of fire spread between properties.
FENZ will also have one of their firefighting trucks on site. Always popular with the kids, and let’s be real, who’s dream was it not to become a fire fighter?
Well, you still can.
Ryan and his team would love to discuss what it means to volunteer for Fire and Emergency in Blenheim and recruit you.
Of course, the team will answer any questions about firefighting that you may have.
See you Sunday, 9 to noon, A&P showgrounds. Bring your friends and share your kai to celebrate Matariki.
