We hope you had a cherry-licious Christmas and have lovely plans for the new year.

We’ll be back this Sunday for our regular market days from 9 to noon at the A&P park.

The year 2021 will certainly stick in our minds. We’ve all had to adjust to new ways of doing business. First with levels controlling Covid amongst the community, and now with traffic lights. It’s been an adjustment for the market too. Under level 3 and 4 we had to shut up shop. For many of our stallholders those were tricky times. Without the market it was difficult for them to reach customers. But a lot of market goers made the effort to continue to support their local stallholders. Our newsletter morphed into a connector. We connected those able to trade.

It’s not ideal of course, being at orange is far from what it was like before Covid. But for now it’s the new normal and we are trying to make the best of it for all concerned in a safe way.

We’d like to thank you, our customers, our visitors, and our stall holders who have supported us through those tricky times. Thank you also for still coming along, even with it’s restrictions.

Drop the BEET cold pressed juices

Farmers’ markets play a big role in the community. By providing a place to trade, markets foster local food diversity. Since 2001 when the Marlborough Farmer’s Market started trading, the market has grown to 50 plus stallholders in peak season, and now operates all year round, providing an opportunity for customer and maker to connect directly. Many producers have used the market to test their product ideas. At the market you can also be sure that the food grown is in season, coming to you with low food miles.

We look forward to welcoming you back on Sunday 2 January to help us see in the new year. Bring your friends, visitors, and family and start the year with a stroll around the stalls.

We’re still in Orange, so last week’s rules apply. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

We look forward to seeing you this Sunday from 8.45am onwards.

Covid-19 Traffic Light – ORANGE recap

Under the new Traffic Light System the Marlborough Farmers’ Market will operate as a retail outlet. That means No vaccine pass required.

However, we ask that you strictly observe to the following points, to help us remain open.

1. Please wear your mask at all times unless you have a medical exemption shown upon entry to the Market.
2. Under Orange we still have food or drink available, but it is to be consumed OUTSIDE the Market space only, so that you can observe point one – keeping the mask on at all times. Therefore, all food must be taken out of the Market space for consumption.
3. Please observe social distancing of one metre at all times.
4. Please be kind to our staff members, observing the new rules will help us stay open.

Under retail we do not need to ask for Vaccine Passes during Orange to operate without limits on numbers. By everyone observing the rules on wearing masks, social distancing and eating outside the Market we can remain as a Vaccine Pass-free environment. If any of those rules are breached, then, sadly, we all lose.

We still have the freshest, seasonal, locally grown produce available, and the most delicious food truck food.

We thank you for your cooperation and look forward to your continued support of your local Farmers’ Market.
